 Government Polytechnic, Nabarangpur has been established during the year 2013, under the MHRD Scheme “Submission of Polytechnics,​ 
 1.The Institute has been approved by the AICTE for the session 2013-14 with 60 seats each in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, & 30 seats in Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, total intake capacity is 180 seats. As the Institution is located in a rural area, to attract the poor parents to admit their children into technical education different financial incentives are given to SC/ST/Economically Backward Class/OBC etc.. 
 2. The institute is located at a distance of 08 KMs from district headquarters of Nabarangpur, in a remote, pollution free “Agnipur” village fully surrounded with greenery. The institution has been started with an aim to make the students skilled and take part in “Make in Odisha” & “Make in India” programmes coming up in a big way inside the state and across the country. 
 3. It provides its students the competitive and resourceful environment and promotes them to perform to the best of their abilities. The institution aims at melding a new breed of technocrats with the competitive edge to match both national and international standards. The college aims at educating the students to become not only competent professionals but also excellent human beings, who would contribute towards the welfare of the society and help in raising the quality of life.
